Dear Black Boys..

‘ Dear Young Black Males, Encourage yourself, believe in yourself, and love yourself, even if nobody else does. Strive to be self motivated’ - Stephanie Lahart More than once a day I see that another black male has died in London and I can’t come to terms with the fact that this is so normalised. When you grow up in an area where all you know is violence from a young age, where people dying and killing around you isn’t a thing, you start to not care. Someone dies? you brush it and move on because it’s nothing new and I’m very much guilty of this. This mind set is wrong, we should never be comfortable or content with someone’s life being taken just because it ‘happens all the time’. It’s crazy to me how we’re only in the fourth month of the year and the number of people dying are increasing drastically. We’re in a country where we have a gun ban but the rates of people dying have over taken New York . If that is not evident enough to show everyone that this is getting ridiculous
